CONCERT BAND CLASSES

Currently, there are 5 full instrumentation Concert Band Classes. Students are selected to a particular Concert Band Class based on ability, learning potential, instrumentation, cooperation, and overall musical experience. Classes meet daily as part of a student’s regular academic schedule.

All HSEHS Concert Bands perform several times per school year. Each performance is part of the student’s grade, along with regular music performance tests, written quizzes, listening assessments and general musical knowledge.

Each of the HSEHS Concert Bands have earned consistent GOLD RATINGS while performing in the ISSMA State Festival.

Congratulations to our HSE Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and Concert Bands!

Congratulations to our HSE Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and Concert Band for their Indiana State School Music Association performances this past weekend! Our Symphonic Band earned a Gold Rating with our Concert Band and Wind Symphony earning Gold Ratings With Distinction Honors!! HSE hosted 23 ensembles over 12 hours of competition Friday and Saturday. A huge thank you to all adult and student volunteers that helped run this successful organizational site! Congratulations to all members of these ensembles for your hard work and outstanding performances!!

HSE HS PERFORMING VENUES

DR. CHARLES D. LEONARD AUDITORIUM (pictured above): Built in 1999, the Leonard Auditorium seats 990, and is handicap accessible. Ample parking, including curb front handicap parking, is available in the South lot of the high school, accessed via Royalty Drive off of Olio Road. Please enter through Door #18. The Leonard Auditorium will be just ahead on the right.

THE LITTLE THEATRE: HSE's original theater built in 1967, The Little Theatre was renovated in 2017, seats 403 guests, and is handicap accessible. Enter the West parking lot on Olio Road, just south of 126th Street. There is plenty of parking for our events, including handicapped parking. You will find the Little Theatre just inside Door #2.
